Garmin Forerunner 110, simplest GPS training watch yet

Garmin tells us it likes to pack as much cool stuff as possible into every one of its sports watches, but users asked for something simpler. "So we did a little editing," says Garmin spokesman Jake Jacobson, resulting in what the company calls the "easiest" Garmin GPS watch yet.

What's so easy about it? It's as simple as pressing Start, and the thing is off and running with you, showing your distance, pace and time. Just like its big brother the mighty Forerunner 405, you can upload all that data to Garmin's way-cool website for some fancy graphing and tracking of your exercise routines.

With the 110's simplicity comes a lower price, retailing at $199, or $249 if you also want a heart-rate monitor. Look for this new addition to the Forerunner family in your choice of black/gray, charcoal/red or gray/pink, first appearing in Boston on April 19, and available at fitness retailers everywhere in May.

Dell, honey, you shrunk the iPad!

Dell, honey, you shrunk the iPad!

Leaks from an internal Dell announcement reveal the company is getting ready to unleash its Streak line of tablets (probably not the best name — smudge much?) in two different flavors. There will be the larger 10-inch Streak that'll go toe-to-toe with the iPad, and then a smaller, 7-inch version for folks who like their tablets a little more portable. Other than that, all that's known is that the smaller Streak could land as early as later this year, with its larger cousin dropping at the beginning of 2011.

That's it for details so far. So, do you already have an iPad, or have you been waiting for one of the many, many other tablets set to come out? Or are tablets just not your bag?
